STEP 1: Postcard for Global Zero

Spread the Postcard

"Postcards for Global Zero Now" consist of two postcards with the same front layout which was designed in an international Postcard competition which you can find here. The two postcards have different addressee:
  1. The first postcard will be send to YOUR foreign ministry. The text at the back of the postcard will be written by YOU so it is specific for your country and directly address the situation regarding nuclear weapons of YOUR country.
  2. The second postcard is for the people! At the back of the postcard is space for a small description of the action in YOUR language, logo and name of YOUR organization. The rest of the space is for a personal message of the participant. These postcards will be brought to NY to present them on the Festival Day of Global Zero Now.
What you have to do if you want to join the "Postcards for Global Zero Now"
  1. Tell us! Send an email to: contact@bang-europe.org
  2. You can download the layouts for printing here, if you have any other requirements refering the size, format or something else please write to us: There are no special requirements regarding the paper (we take 250 g/m²) and you can print it as two single ones or a double one with perforation in the middle depending on your budget. You can also print one of them if you just want to join one part of the campaign. If you have any questions or need any assistance please contact us.
  3. You can try to find other Peace Organizations in your country helping you to distribute the postcards. Maybe you already found an organization for cooperation and you can share printing costs. There are already organizations in Japan, Germany and the US printing postcards so please contact us to get information where you can order them in these countries.
  4. You can do a street action with a desk where people can write their message on the two postcards. Don't forget to take pictures and send them to us!
  5. Send your postcards to your foreign ministry! Best is you collect all the signed postcards and send them in one packet to the foreign ministry or even better arrange a meeting and hand it over. The other way would be to hand the postcards to people and they send them to the ministry themselves but then there is the risk that they forget or don't want to spend the postal rate.
  6. Bring your postcards with the personal messages of the people to New York City! You can send them by post or bring them along with you. For making sure that they reach their destination in time please contact us for individual arrangements. The festival will take place at 7th May where they weather will fly into the sky bound at balloons if the City of New York allows so, and if not they will be hang up at clotheslines through the trees of Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza in front of the UN.
